Sometimes the paper in the tray is not in the tray correctly. This can cause paper feed jams where the paper never makes it inside the copier.

Try removing the paper from the tray to insure the paper doesn't have any folded sheets on the bottom of the stack.

There are a number of reasons you can be getting lines on your copies. check to see if you only get lines when you use the automatic document feeder. If this is the case you can try wiping the slit glass with a dry cloth.

If you are getting lines when both copying and printing you may need to call for service to troubleshoot further.

In most cases copies are light for other reasons than needing more toner. You should only replace the toner when the copier instructs you to.

Error codes help diagnos the problem. Some error codes can be reset by opening and closing the front or side door of the copier. Sometimes codes can be reset by turning the copier on and off

If a code does not reset the copier may have a more serious problem and a service technician should be called.

If your print is rubbing off the page, the toner is not being fused properly to the paper. Make sure your paper settings are correct for the type of paper you are using. If your settings are correct then a technician will be needed to correct the problem.
